AI agents

A watch to talk to your agent

You already have an AI agent: Hermes Agent or OpenClaw on your own machine, Claude Code, Grok. Cobalt gives it a button on your wrist. You press, you speak, and the phone app passes the note on to your agent, while the phone stays in your pocket.

Your voice goes through the watch, then through the Cobalt Agent app, which passes it on to the agent you choose: OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, Claude Code, Grok Bot, dots, Muse, OS3, Instinct or your own.API · A2A · relayOpenClawHermes AgentClaude CodeGrok BotdotsMMuserOS3iInstinct+Your agentYour voiceThe watch Your voice goes through the watch, then through the Cobalt Agent app, which passes it on to the agent you choose: OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, Claude Code, Grok Bot, dots, Muse, OS3, Instinct or your own.Your voiceThe watchAPI · A2A · relayOpenClawHermes AgentClaude CodeGrok BotdotsMMuserOS3iInstinct+Your agent

How it works

  1. You press the button on the watch and speak. The microphone only listens while you hold it.
  2. The note goes to the phone over the wireless link, even when the app is closed.
  3. The app transcribes it, then sends it to your agent. You choose, agent by agent, what goes out: everything you say, or only the sentences that start with its name ("Claude, …", "Hermes, …"). The rest, your notes and the phone commands, stays in the app.
  4. The LED on the watch confirms the note has left. The agent’s answer arrives on the phone, as a notification and on the note’s card.

Your agent’s key or token stays on your phone. We host no relay between you and your agent: the app reaches it directly, on your home network, or from outside through a private network such as Tailscale. We do not pay for your agent and we do not resell access to it: you keep it with its maker, as you do today.

The apps come out with the campaign. Connecting your own agent arrives in them for Hermes Agent and OpenClaw first, then Claude Code. This page says where each agent stands, and we keep it up to date.

Agent by agent

OpenClaw

First

OpenClaw runs on your machine or your server. The app reaches it through its OpenAI-compatible API or the A2A protocol, with your gateway’s address and token. That token gives full control of OpenClaw, so it must not be exposed to the internet, hence the private network. Later, the watch will also be able to register as an OpenClaw node. The agent will then be able to ask you a question, and you will answer yes or no on your wrist.

Hermes Agent

First

Hermes Agent, by Nous Research, also runs at home. The app reaches it the same way, through its OpenAI-compatible API or A2A: one connector serves both Hermes and OpenClaw.

Claude Code

Next

An app cannot use your Claude subscription. The app will therefore go through a small relay installed on your computer, which starts Claude Code or slips your request into an open session. The answer comes back when Claude is done, often within a few minutes.

Grok and Grok Bot

The model, with your key

Grok Bot, the agent from xAI, has no public API for now. The app can reach the Grok model with your own xAI key. You can also plug Grok into your Hermes or your OpenClaw, which xAI allows with a SuperGrok subscription, and talk to it through them.

OpenAI dots

When OpenAI opens it

OpenAI’s dots, introduced on 29 September 2026, are used in ChatGPT, Slack and Teams. They do not take messages from another app yet, and Pro subscribers in Europe do not have them yet. A dot understands speech: as soon as OpenAI opens a door, we want to send it your note as it is, in your own voice.

Muse, by Meta

Later

Muse takes nothing from another app: it is Muse that calls connectors, and Cobalt could become one of them. Muse is only available in the United States for now.

rabbit OS3

Not yet

OS3, the agent system rabbit released in September 2026, is reached through the web, Telegram, iMessage, SMS and the r1. It has no public API for now. Cobalt Agent Dev sends text messages in the background: that is the route we are looking at to pass your notes to it, and we have not tried it yet.

Instinct

Not yet

Instinct, the agent from Spear Street Technology, has no app: you text it or call it. It is in early access and has no API. The route is the same as for OS3: sending it the note as a text message from Cobalt Agent Dev.

Your own agent

If your agent accepts an OpenAI-compatible API, the app will reach it like Hermes and OpenClaw, with its address and token. The watch’s code is public, and the protocol that links it to the phone, Cobalt Link, is described in the repository with a reference client in Python. So you can also write your own bridge: everything is on the Builders page.

Questions

Does the watch work without an agent?

Yes. With no agent connected, the watch records your voice notes and the app runs the phone commands: music, timers, reminders, calendar, messages. The agent is an option.

Do I need a subscription to connect my agent?

No. With the Free plan, which costs nothing, the note is transcribed on the phone and then sent to your agent. You pay for your agent with its maker, as you do today.

Does my voice go through Cobalt’s servers?

With the Free plan, no: transcription happens on the phone and the note goes straight to your agent. With Pro and Max, it is transcribed in France, by our gateway, before it leaves. In every case, what reaches your agent follows that agent’s own rules: the app tells you where it runs before you turn it on.

Can I connect several agents?

Yes. You call them by name at the start of a sentence ("Claude, …", "Hermes, …") and the app sends the note to the right one. The app always shows where each note went, with a button to send it somewhere else.

Does the watch show the agent’s answer?

No, its screen only shows a few characters. The LED tells you whether the note has left, and you read the answer on the phone. Next, we want the agent to be able to ask you a question that you answer yes or no with the watch’s button.

Can I link the watch to my agent without the Cobalt app?

Yes. The watch firmware is published under the Apache-2.0 licence, with the Cobalt Link protocol and its test vectors. Its reference client, in Python, takes the notes off the watch from a computer and can transcribe them with Whisper. From there, a few lines are enough to hand them to your agent.

OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, Claude, Claude Code, Grok, Grok Bot, dots, ChatGPT, Muse, rabbit, r1, OS3 and Instinct are trademarks of their respective owners. Cobalt Watch is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. These names only say which agents the app can talk to.
